About Cabo Pulmo Marine Park
The village of Cabo Pulmo was established in 1987 and currently has a population of 114, the National Marine Park of Cabo Pulmo was established in 1995 to protect the oldest living Coral Reef in North America.
Some of the animals you can find in Cabo Pulmo include whale sharks, hammerhead sharks, dolphins, manta rays, tortoises, humpback whales, and many species of fish. Also this Marine Protected Area is known for its warm, crystal-clear waters, sandy beaches, and coral reefs.

Why is Cabo Pulmo called "the aquarium of the world"?
Cabo Pulmo is home to more than 800 species of marine life and protects the oldest living coral reef in North America. The National Marine Park was established in 1995, and the reef has recovered into one of the most successful marine protected areas on the planet.
How many divers go on each diving tour?
Our boats take up to 32 divers per tour, split into small groups of about six divers per guide. Every group is led by local, bilingual and experienced dive masters who know each reef by heart.
Do I need to pay a marine park fee?
Yes. Cabo Pulmo is a National Marine Park, so every diver and snorkeler pays the park fee (120 MXN per person per day). The fee goes to the protection of the reef.
I have not dived in a while. Can I still join a tour?
If it has been more than eight months since your last dive we recommend a refresher session in confined water before you join a boat dive. Just tell us when you book and we will set it up.
Can I learn to dive in Cabo Pulmo?
Yes. Our dive masters and PADI certified instructors run courses for first-timers and for experienced divers who want to go further, including Open Water referrals and Scuba Diver upgrades.
Where can I stay in Cabo Pulmo?
Inside the resort. We rent 5 villas for up to 10 guests, each one with indoor and outdoor furniture, a BBQ area and access to all facilities. We also offer Dive + Sleep packages of up to 6 nights for 2 or 3 guests with all meals included.
When is whale season?
Humpback whales visit the Sea of Cortez in the winter months. Book a dive tour in season for the chance to spot (and hear) them from the boat and underwater.
